Consequently, this will reduce traffic congestion and improve traffic flow between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Notably, the project was inaugurated in October 2021 and was awarded to the National Logistics Cell (NLC) after it came in as the lowest bidder. As per Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the project was originally scheduled to be completed in April 2023.
