Islamabad: A report issued by the United Nations<\/a> Institute of Water, Environment, and Health has listed Pakistan among 23 countries that are \u2018critically water insecure\u2019 according to news published on March 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report emphasised that the water security of the country is fragile. As per the UN University\u2019s Global Water Security 2023 Assessment, 33 nations \u2014 from three different regions \u2014 have attained water security; however, all the regions comprised countries that had inadequate levels of water security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study presents a holistic analysis of the condition of water security in 186 nations impacting 7.8 billion people. The findings of the study are concerning as 78% of the world\u2019s population are living in water-stressed areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, it was revealed that more than half of the world\u2019s population doesn\u2019t have access to clean drinking water and sanitation. The survey disclosed that Sweden and many other European countries have been ranked as the most water-secure country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
