{"id":94061,"date":"2023-06-27T16:16:20","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T11:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/?p=94061"},"modified":"2023-06-27T16:16:22","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T11:16:22","slug":"gwadar-international-airport-going-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/gwadar-international-airport-going-green.html","title":{"rendered":"New Gwadar Intl\u2019 Airport takes on Green Coverage Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Islamabad: The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) is all set to adopt \u2018Green Coverage Initiative\u2019 to fulfil the commitment to environmentally sustainable practices of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), according to news published on June 27.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/12-mw-approved-gwadar-international-airport.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Gwadar International Airport to get 12 MW uninterrupted electricity<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A meeting was held between the Civil Aviation Authority, the Gwadar Development Authority, and the China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), where decision of Gwadar International Airport going green was taken. As per the details, the first phase of the initiative will witness the plantation of trees along the incoming and outgoing roads of the NGIA, covering over 3 kilometres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the second phase, designated areas within the airport&#8217;s expansive 4,300-acre vicinity will be enriched with a diverse range of tree species to enhance the green ecosystem. To tackle the ecological challenges specific to Gwadar&#8217;s hot desert climate and soil salinity issues, tropical economic tree species will be carefully selected.
