Lahore: Interim Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mohsin Naqvi made an official visit to the Maraka Interchange \u2013 Ring Road Southern Loop-3<\/a> (SL-3) project to review the progress of the ongoing work, according to news published on October 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following CM Mohsin Naqvi’s visit to Ring Road SL-3, he addressed the media, highlighting the significance of this major Lahore project, which will soon be accessible to the public. He assured that Southern Loop will spare no effort to expedite the project’s completion, emphasizing the importance of the Maraka interchange, which connects SL-3 and SL-4. This connection will greatly facilitate traffic between Lahore, Kasur, and South Punjab.
In a briefing to CM Naqvi, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) officials provided an update on the SL-3 project. They reported that the joint survey and road cleaning work have been fully completed, with progress at 100%. Work on 8 bridges, 5 subways, and 14 drainage canals has reached 20% completion. Additionally, 20 million feet of road construction soil has been processed, and a total of 88 million feet of land will be utilized to construct the subway along the 8-kilometer-long road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohsin Naqvi further mentioned that the Maraka Interchange will have future connections to SL-4. He discussed his recent visit to Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur and the ongoing efforts of his team to inspect various cities, expressing his commitment to making progress.
The interim chief minister of Punjab revealed plans to hold the next supervisory cabinet meeting in a divisional headquarters outside of Lahore, as part of their efforts to combat smog. To address the issue, water is being sprayed on the site at every project, including the Marakah SL-3 project. Smog experts have been consulted, and decisions are pending. The next cabinet meeting will consider further actions based on expert advice and the severity of the smog.
