Lahore: The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is in the process of developing a mobile application called the Dastak App to bring specific services directly to the citizens’ doorsteps, according to news published on October 15. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Lahore Development Authority (LDA<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reportedly, the development of the Dastak App was discussed during a meeting presided over by LDA Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa on a Saturday. The said meeting was attended by various key figures, including PITB Chairman Faisal Yousuf, Lahore Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider, Additional Commissioner Abdul Salam Arif, Additional DG Housing Awais Mushtaq, Chief Town Planner Azhar Ali, and Chief Town Planner Sidara Tabassum. Also present were One Window Cell Director Rafia Nazir, One Window Director Asadullah Cheema, IT Director Abdul Basit, as well as officials from both PITB and LDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, the progress of digitizing LDA’s operations was reviewed, and the attendees were given a presentation on the Dastak App. The Dastak App is designed to offer selected civic services, such as birth certificates, death certificates, and B-forms, directly to the citizens at their residences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the gathering, the LDA Director General emphasized that citizens were now able to access LDA-related services without leaving their homes. In particular, documents were being delivered free of charge to senior citizens aged 75 and above at their doorsteps.
