Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced the readiness of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to collaborate with the World Bank on various development projects in the city, a news source reported on November 2.

The news source mentioned that the Mayor emphasized that the City Council would provide legal protection and approval for the World Bank’s investments and related matters. Addressing the critical issue of the city’s clean water shortage, Mayor Wahab highlighted the necessity of installing Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in Karachi. He proposed the installation of a RO plant in each ward of the city to significantly alleviate water scarcity.
These statements were made during a meeting with a three-member delegation from the World Bank at his office, where KMC Council Parliamentary Leader Najmi Alam was also present. The head of the World Bank delegation, Abedalrazq Khalil, who serves as the Practice Manager for World Bank Urban and Land for South Asia, received information about Karachi’s development projects during the meeting.
