Hafizabad:<\/strong> The Punjab government has officially launched the distribution of Chief Minister\u2019s Kisan Cards in both Attock and Hafizabad districts, as reported on September 9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per details, under this Kisan-friendly program, the government will provide interest-free loans worth PKR. 75 billion to 500,000 farmers across the province. The distribution of Kisan Cards in Hafizabad was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq, while over 1,200 Kisan Cards have already been distributed in Attock under the Punjab Chief Minister\u2019s Agriculture Transformation Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Hafizabad, during a ceremony at the District Complex, the first Kisan Card was handed over to President Awami Mahaz Hafizabad, Rana Khalid Mehmood, with several other farmers receiving their cards. Senior officials including Deputy Director Agriculture Muhammad Yousaf and Agriculture Officer Faraz Ahmad were also present. Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq emphasised that the Kisan Cards will help increase per-acre yields and improve the socio-economic conditions of farmers. He stressed that the distribution is being conducted on merit, ensuring no deserving farmer is left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, in Attock, Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza, during a ceremony attended by local farmers and officials, highlighted that the Kisan Card initiative is a historic step towards the prosperity of farmers and the modernisation of agriculture in the province. The program in Attock will eventually distribute 27,122 cards, with 1,200 already issued across the district’s six tehsils. This scheme enables farmers to access essential agricultural inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, and high-quality registered seeds at subsidized rates. Additional benefits include access to solar tube wells, tractors, and low-interest loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In both districts, the program aims to provide interest-free loans of PKR 30,000 per acre to farmers for the procurement of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other agricultural inputs, with a maximum of PKR 150,000 available to farmers with up to five acres of land. The program is expected to benefit thousands of farmers in both regions, with dedicated distribution centers established in each district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Mohammad Javaid, Director of Agriculture, emphasised that all Kisan Card distribution centers are equipped with essential facilities for farmers. He noted that the registration process for Kisan Cards is progressing swiftly and is crucial for farmers to avail subsidies on agricultural machinery, solar systems, and crop insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
