Islamabad: It is feared that Pakistan’s agricultural output may decrease by eight to ten percent by 2040 due to the water crisis, a news source reported. The view was shared by United Nations report.
The report also mentions that to save agriculture from devastation due to water crisis, Pakistan has prepared Technology Action Plan, under which 6 priority projects are going to be started with the estimated cost of USD 51.275 million. These projects will help improve irrigation and agriculture.
