For a house with 2 ACs & Other appliances, Mostly 10 KW Solar system is used. That generates average 15789.9Kwh (units) per year. An Year ago the Cost of your system was around 10 Lacs. (without battery cost).
Unit cost of grid power they assume is mostly around 24 PKR Per unit (KWh)
- Annual Earning formula they use is:
(Avg. Unit cost in PKR) * ( Yearly Energy Yield in Kwh)
24 * 15789.9= PKR 378957.6
And Payback period = (Total system cost) / (Annual Earning)
943975 / 378957.6 = 2.49 Years
In Last 1 year i am sure the product price may have shoot up. Furthermore NEPRA has imposed some other charges/Fee per KW.
Infact we are the only country in this world which have surplus power generation, But still suffering through load shedding due to lack of distribution on many power generation facilities . So i think they are going to target the right nerve to resolve the problem.

Sir, for readers & sharing info, I installed 11 KWh system and as system is on my wi-fi, I am keeping checking on my cell and having around 1350-1450 Units per day, being sold to WAPDA.
We run our ACs out of the " peak hours" , if weather is good, as Islamabad weather though hot at times but my " false ceiling" & treatment at the roof allows me to go through most of the day with fans.
False ceiling keeps a good gap between the hot sun facing roof slab & room inside.
My cost is almost the same as per your calculations.
I hope govt will not discourage as it is now helping a lot to aid the energy demand in the country...in my village, I can see all kacha roofs seems painted with blue colour because of solar plates and even poor one's having enough to run a fan and some LEDs.
My system start beebing half an hour before sunrise & half an hour post sunset producing & quit the energy.
I am thrilled having such a luxury as my bill was reached 25K plus Now will be zero.. may be a couple of 1000s at the most..
I hope status quo as you said shall not come in between to take the facility back from the papulace by imposing taxes on solar stuff.
For further info for the readers, All ACs, fridges, fans have to be Inverter technology.
Another very productive & interesting thing can be done...
I installed an AC in my basement just to condense humidity which AC will drain outside to de-humidify the basement and what happens then....
First 40 minutes, AC drain humidity like a water tap and then AC compressor stops & AC's & basement fan keeps very cool environment.
Alhamdolilla, solar technology is a great help for all and keeping improving all the time..
