Advice need - cost effectiveness b/w renovation and new construction

Dear friends and experts on zameen.Com forum, i request your educated advice. My family is planning to purchase a small house (5 - 7 marla) in cda sectors g-8 or g-9. As you know houses in these sectors are quite old. My family then plans to renovate or re-construct that house for their own living and renting purposes. I seek your expert advice whether to go for a renovation or demolish the structure and then reconstruct? Thanks in advance for inputs

In the non-VIP sectors, old houses are sold normally a little above the plot cost. Better demolish and renew as water lines may be corroded, tiles needed to be redone, sanitary fittings surely need replacement, protective coating is another headache, your family would insist on the new frontage, kitchen……..electrical wiring….wood work….

At the end you will not feel happy after having spent all this money!

Plus, there was no “dirty kitchen/clean kitchen concept” in olden days!
You may not be having a servant quarter in old house.
