I want to know how reliable new lahore city would be to buy a plot for investment purpose for now for next 6-7 yrs? Oh and take me as an lahore-outsider so some basic stuff about lahore real-estate would still be lost on me.

For 6,7 or even for all eternity, DHA Lahore remains the most reliable project of Lahore real estate sector. If money is no object and secure investment is all that you're after than look no further. Currently there is a lot of demand for property in Phase 5 DHA Lahore because of which prices have started rising in Phase 6 as well.
Prices for files in DHA Phase 9 had dropped around the election time from Rs 4,300,000 to 4,100,000 for 1 kanal but they have started coming back up all because there is huge demand in the market.
Other than DHA, a few other good projects are Lake City, NFC (phase 2), Central Park, Banker's Avenue, Bahria Town (of course), Askari X, LDA Avenue Phase 1 are all great for investment.

Thank you, nafees for taking out time but may be you i did not communicate properly as i was looking for an advice on ‘new lahore city’ http://www.Newlahore.Pk rather than dha. One of my concerns are not so long term goals which is why places which are way outside lahore may not be right ones? So anything that can give decent return in 6-8 yrs should be ok. Thanks.
Dont dont know much about property of lahore but i think nfc 2 would be in your range…
Dont go for new lahore city. It has some political issues with the current pml(n) govt as per my info. Moreover all of its land is not acquired. It has sold more no of plots than the amount of acquired land. It has no noc as well.
What u guys look on lake city. I mean a 5 marla house is still low in price as compare to other socities. Why lake city prices r not going up.
