Buying a plot in Mirpur is more expensive than buying a plot in Islamabad. Very few people are selling there and you have to a Kashmiri be to buy there.

Is it like a law or something that you have to be a Kashmiri to buy land anywhere in the Kashmir region? I have heard it before too that if any non-Kashmiri buys land there, Kashmiris occupy it illegally and refuse to handover the possession. Is it true?
No it is a law, I think it is to do with the status of both sides of kashmir and either side not changing the population of the areas, therefore people from outside the area cannot buy properties there. Non Kashmiri cannot buy so the claim of kashmiris occupying land illegally of non kashmiris is not true.
