I am a Pakistan origin us passport holder, having no NICOP Card. I wish to remit and buy a plot in DHA Lahore for my parents under my own name. What are the rules saying that a foreign passport holder cannot buy property there? Every person I ask has a different opinion. What are the real facts?
If I apply for a NICOP now, it takes 10-12 weeks to come through, whereas all sellers wish to get paid in 4-6 weeks. I do have an expired Pakistan passport and expired NIC. Please advise.
The easiest way would be to renew the passport/nicop, or u could apply for POC (pakistan origin card).
You will need it time and again if u wish to have a property in pakistan from buying to gettin utilities etc.
Mrs Nabi I am US citizen too the best opption you have is NICOP go to the Pak embbasey web site read the instructions and apply for it if you fill the form correctly the NICOP will be delivered at your home in US or if you are in Pakistan you get it in thirty days from Nadira office you don’t need a valid Pak passport or ID card but you must have valid US passport. Get the NICOP that’s the best you will need it for every thing don’t apply for Pakistan origin card as it is not sa good as NICOP because with NICOP you will be considered a dual citizen of US and Pak the origin card is for people who give up their Pakistani citizenship.Get NICOP for your whole family for visa free entery to Pakistan.
