Few months ago there were lots of rumors about margalla avenue.
But yet no update where it is standing now a days. Some people said that 6 km is completed and other 6 km is remaining due to conflicts with local population.
I just want to know the rout of this avenue after meeting gt road. How this road will be connected to airport? Through motorway or gt road?
Right now work on margalla avenue is almost at standstill due to severe shortage of funds with cda; there are reports that development funds for all projects are being diverted to areas where they can win the upcoming elections.
Inshaallah in phase 1, margalla avenue will start from d12 shah allah ditta and reach gt road near sangjani. In phase 2, it will extend from gt road and reach m-1 motorway and there a new interchange has been approved. From there you will take left on m-1 motorway to reach the lahore-islamabad-peshawar interchange and turn right to get to the airport.
May be in a third phase, the margalla avenue will be extended on the islamabad side from d-12 alongside margalla hills to reach faisal masjid.
Right now even the first phase is in problems.
