Wall width

I am constructing a house and contractors are giving me quote of width of wall of 6 inches. I am unsure that wall will be strong because in this six inches cement on both sides of the wall is also included. Let me know that 6 inches is a right wall width.

You will be asking the thickness of the wall. Normally load bearing walls of a house is minimum 9" thick and if you are constructing basement then you can take 6" thick concrete wall.

I you want to know anything else do let me know.
