In a turn of recent events, while we have been trying to overcome the coronavirus challenge, there is one thing that we all learnt that the Pakistani public will pay no heed to any instructions if they don’t like them – even to save their own lives.
In a similar event that occurred in Ghauri Town, a video shows property dealers and owners tearing down the CDA notices issued against illegal constructions in the locality. In a recent operation, the CDA officials had plastered these notices on at least 200 under-construction plazas and over 72 completely constructed ones in Ghauri Town – that lacked the appropriate no-objection certificates (NOCs).
This complete disregard for the law is what leads to people getting in the way of harm. Not to say that the CDA is perfect at its job but it is not like the rest of the stakeholders cooperate either.
Now, the chairman of CDA has taken notice of the video and asked for action against those involved.
