CDA officials involved in Islamabad Masterplan violations

I recently saw on the news that the CDA had recently conducted four inquiries that blamed the authority’s officials of allowing state land to be used for other purposes than it was originally intended for. Apparently, this has resulted in violations in the Islamabad Masterplan. What I’m wondering about now is that what became of all the previous talk regarding the restructuring of the CDA, and that all the black sheep in the authority were being rounded up once and for all? Did nothing come out of that operation? Why are we once again seeing reports of CDA officials being accused of taking bribes in the last couple of years and selling off forest land?

What will become of the Islamabad Masterplan that’s supposed to accommodate the city’s needs for the next 25 years?

Interestingly, the same thing happened with the SBCA in Karachi. The corrupt officers took bribes and allowed development of buildings that were in violation of building bylaws — which in turn put innocent residents at risk. Now the department is working to seal hundreds of buildings after accidents occurred that costed lives and money. Can we expect the same to happen in Islamabad? Or will the CDA get its act together soon?
