Dangerous For Living - Multi Orchard Islamabad Adjacent To Fauji Cement Plan

@PK

This report suggest the low effect and exposure to pollutant materials in western country.

It is not wise to copy the same RESEARCH REPORT from differnt country, environment, distance vector, and soil.

The point is that Multi-Professionals should conduct there independent research report to proof that there is no risk of exposure to toxic material released by factory, and its not hazardous for surrounding areas including Multi-Orchard Scheme.

There is a risk with almost everything.

There are some people in the world who have found remote places to live where there are no electric lines to avoid flux, no phone signals, no micro waves and other signals etc. By doing so, according to them, they are living healthier lives. I think they are right and indeed they are living healthier lives as this is closer to nature.

My point is only that according to scientific studies, the risk associated with life in the vicinity of a cement plant is "Very Low". They have considered all possible effects and diseases. They have considered the health of people working at the plant (not just in a 3 km radius but on the plant itself).

They did not say there is no risk. Yes there is some risk. But it is a "Very Low" risk according to their scientific assessment.

Now if someone does not want to take even a "Very Low Risk", I respect his decision. Yes he should not buy in Multi Orchards.

@PK1

Your assessment on the research/surrey report of different place/land/environment/law is not justified for place in Pakistan.

e.g. Toxic waste dispersed by factories in China is far more as Compared to Pakistan, now the studies conducted in Chinese environment cannot be implemented here as both countries are different in terms of place/land/environment/law.

Now you cannot argue that follow same environmental laws of China in Pakistan according to there stats.

Same goes for your LINK, that study is conducted in Foreign country with there parameters, now we cannot adopt it here in Pakistan as we have different ones.

Low Risk in Foreign Land, but in Pakistan is it low/high? it depends on new research/surrey report which should be done by Multi Orchard personals to satisfy inverters for Health Safety.

Generally speaking the technology of cement plants is the same. If it is "Very Low Risk" in Europe, then naturally it is also "Very Low Risk" in Pakistan. They are making the same product: Cement.

The process is not combustion or smoke intensive.

By the way there are more unregulated and unchecked carbon emissions from private brick making units where they burn even tyre to save fuel cost.

So should we also re-evaluate all of Zone 2 for example G-15 and G-16 as well???

Also, life on the village side is dangerous now because of the brick kilns?!

There is not a single report of people in village Jhang Bahatar falling ill due to the cement plant. If there are any such news items or reports, please show us. This is the age of a free media which jumps on the slightest news then why not on this?

And by the way there is no white dust released by a cement plant. The white dust you are talking about is released by electric power plants which run on furnace oil.

It is produced by a precipitator they install on the boiler to reduce air emissions from the stack so that they are environmentally compliant with EPA standards and international standards of which compliance is required by international lending institutions who finance the project.

No such issues in cement plant.

You think Fauji is operating its plant without EPA apprvoal? Without an Enviornmental Impact Assessment Study duly approved by EPA? No sir. No cement plant can operate without these formalities which involve a study of impact on population of local villages.

It is private brick kiln type units which do not obtain any EPA approvals. Cement factories especially of fauji are bound to respect the rules.

LETS not dig the issue deep …after all there is no place in our cities ,which is environmentally safe from atmospheric pollutants…THERE is no such planing for factories and chemical plants to be kept at safe distance from population centers…come here in central pindi and you find many such fine dust producing small factories, spreading lungs disease, …MULTI ORCHARD IS HEAVEN COMPARED TO THIS.

Cement Plants produce cement all over the world BUT in different quantity.

Fauji Cement Plant is not a small scale facility like brick kiln.

Now compare Fauji cement plant with Orchard in size, use google map, you will find it half of the size of Orchard Scheme. So according to size, they are major producer of Cement throughout Pakistan with mega production line.

Production is directly proportional to Toxic waste produced. Now if toxic waste is handled properly and not effecting the surrounding, then its good, but what if its not? For confirmation, Societies should come up with a solution or proof that its human friendly to live.

Farm House means, green and pure atmosphere away from city pollution to live in, but in case of Orchard Farm House, you are in the neighbor of Mega Pollution Producer Plant, e.g. Block "D" of Multi-Orchard Scheme which is just at a waking distance.

Lastly, you are saying that workers have no problem, I am amazed by your logic, then it means that create a New Society in the neighbor of atomic reactor and market to the public that Workers of Reactor are safe so you will also remain safe from toxic waste 24/7, obviously workers are there for 8 hours/day tough.

So instead of defending the wrong thing, Multi Orchard Should come with Green Flag report of "Health Safety".

One more thing, please don't say that in Pakistan other cities are this and that, its a lam excuse.

Multi-Orchard is trying to give you a cleaner solution, but there solution should be error free based on Health safety.

Thanks.

Nice Quote by "Imam Al Shafi'i"

Noise pollution near Air port societies is scientifically more dangerous than this.

Not just dangerous,Multi is house of issues where people are suffering.

Kindly tell the truth abt noise pollution also. Pls also elaborate the effect of carbon in the center of the cities.

Mr. Abbas sounds very logical and i agreed to Mr. Abbas, thanks for providing such a great knowledge in public interest

I appreciate the awareness raising efforts of Mr. Abbass. I would like to draw his attention to FECTO CEMENT factory which is inside Islamabad city limits and about 1 KM from B-17 and adjacent to water reservoir. Please see on google map and comment. Should Islamabad residents not be sensitized toward this health hazard.

While at this topic, we should also raise questions about hazards of Nilor factory and possible contamination of down streams with radioactive material specially in Korang Nallah tributaries that pass through Gulberg Greens.

And what about Pakistan Ordnance Factories in Wah Cantt?

B-17 is not good for living due to impact of FECTO cement and blasting, stone crushing.....horrible mountains...too much dust in the area.....the place is heaven for greedy society Mafia and property dealers......

Once nilore factory was away from residential projects....now greedy town and society Mafia mushroom growth every where........transportation of nuclear waste etc is a hazard for nearby residents of such places....

@pardesi...yes there are many hidden causes for cancer disease in our country

Fecto cement is also near D-12… And the price of one kanal there is 3-4 crores plus

Mr. Abbass, your comments are awaited on Fecto Cement’s hazard on B-17 and D-12 and Nelor Factory’s contamination of Gulberg Greens underground water with possible radioactive materials…

Well done mr. Abbass appriciated
