The federal government announced its plan to initiate development work in sectors I-12, I-15, and E-12. Special assistant to prime minister for CDA affairs Ali Nawaz Awan recently revealed that work in this regard would be commencing in the coming few months.
Once i got to know about the news, I did some digging and found out that the CDA had not developed a sector in Islamabad in decades. Imagine that! How would the low-income families living in the city get houses if you are not building any? I found out that the CDA had a dozen delayed sectors, including C-13 to C-16, D-13, E-13, f-13, H-16, and I-12 to I-17.
Why didn’t any of the previous governments think of working on these delayed sectors? Also, why did the cda not suggest developing these stalled sectors itself? Seeing situations like this on the federal level, one cannot resist saying that Pakistan with its bureaucracy and political parties will make a fine encyclopaedia of lost opportunities.
