This Haji Camp route seems to me another political stunt by this Government. I mean there will be hell litigiation issues on the way from Golra round about to Peshawar road (Army Depo, Furniture showrooms, workshops..).

AND one important factor is the funds 15 BILLION !! Which im sure when it starts it will increase when the project comes at the middle stages -:) NO TURNING BACK NOW.

Currently the Government is more focused on Kashmir Highway and the Metro Bus project with quite heavy doses in Energy sector.

Still if Government plans to build this route, when u see it gonna be alive ?

Currently Government will go ahead with this Motorway zero point to Thallian route.

Some people in Govt are saying Haji Camp route is final, buy Allah knows best!

Haji camp route will never become operational. I think that airport will also not operational until 2018.

But work is proceeding at a good pace on the airport. The Supreme Court got involved last year; The judiciary and the media will not allow the Govt to push this national level project to the backburner.

PK1: If airport is about to be operational by March 2014 according to PM direction, then will it be possible to get the Haji Camp route operational by that time? Has Govt announced any deadline or time span for the completion of Haji Camp route?

Most likely it will be mid 2016. By then they can complete Haji Camp route. But my guess is they will do both routes - Kashmir Highway and Haji Camp.

PK1: I have heard that Govt will acquire about 14k Kanal land in Mouza Bajnial (I-17, I-18 , H Series etc) (Adjacent with 1-16 area). One of my relatives has also seen the notification document containing Khasra numbers in that area.

Do you have any information about that?

Until connecting roads are constructed and sufficient water supply is available; how an airport can be operational? Airport can be completed but can not be operational until such relative issuez are resolved. Govt is using delaying tactics.

Airport card will come into play in this very Government for sure !

The government tenure is about 3 more years, so it will be operational in coming 2 years.

Pk1 Haji Camp route is final might be in papers only. Im not against it that it would not be a reality, but do consider the time frame of its completion as well.

Ok considering 2016 the year airport coming into play. Do u think Government will complete all the PC-1, Design , Tender , Litigation on the way, all the flyovers needed, within 2 years ??

Brother! read statement of member planning Raja Nowsherwan in senate standing committee ; estimate will be considerably higher than 15 billions. All this stunt. U will see Gov. Will go for old route.

Thats the misery of our govt…the road whcih was being built at 1.5 billion is now expected to be built at 15…amazing and astonishing… Lets hope the senate knocks some sense in the people who are corncerend!!!

This new proposal seems to be materializable with same cost as per old rout no additional cost seems here

Punjab approves 19 uplift schemes today and one of the schemes is dualisation or improvement of Golra Road from GT Road to Kashmir Highway, Islamabad (length=1.92km) in Rawalpindi district at a cost of Rs323.128 million.
