What are the pros and cons of using red bricks in house construction and why it is not common in karachi ??
Bricks has higher cost and time consuming. Otherwise bricks are better than blocks. Better to follow local practice.
Whats the cost of ghutka ? and how is it fixed on walls that have been painted?
Karachi dong have any Kilns and they dont manufecture Bricks but only cement blocks and that is easy to get and the only source.

Gutka is from Rs.20 to Rs.30 per brick and it is fixing like marble or tile fixing on the front
elevation with cement mortar.
Never painted its in always in natural color... But at times it come white and it can remove
with chemical treatment after few years to get again fresh looks.

@DSA , is there any chemical which can be applied on Gutka and it preserves the Gutka? No salt develops on it. If yes, what is its name?
Yes ofcourse there are chemical treatment availabe in market.
Some companies offer services for the same.
