i daily cross tarnol phhattac and i have seen the demolishing work personally.
I daily cross the Tarnol Phhatac and i have personally seen the demolishing work and i also confirmed it from the residents of the vicinity there.
Gul bhai, Wish the planning and construction work is that quick.
But last Friday their was an operation going on against encroachments in that area by CDA. I think you might have seen that. Tarnol flyover is not a small project, there would be a lot of drum beat before its commencement.
Well ..though Tarnol fly over is the need of the hour, as in the absence of any trafic signal and proper traffic control in the ternol chowk,,it makes a miserable traffic jam in the wee hours, and it will be heartening to see it being developed as soon as possible, BUT...still i haven't seen any progress on it till last Wednesday.
Surely it will give a boost to the real estate of surrounding areas , whenever built...when?? no body knows.
Ali bahi you are correct that CDA has started the operation against encroachments I might be over optimistic but i think this is the beginning actually. Today on my way back home i stopped there and inquired from a Motorway police inspector who was controlling the traffic there he also told me that this activity is for flyover.
I think a slight drum beat has started through the CDA operation.
The flyover main benificiary will be CDECHS and societies on fatehjang road.
The flyover is due and if it is started this year then be assure for smiles around for whole Zone - 2 investors/genuine buyers.
Regards,
I agree with IS Base.
Syed Ibrahim bhai can you kindly find out about status of Tarnol Flyover construction work? Is it started?
Brother Gul Khatab is giving some very convincing arguments.
That’s great news. May be CDA has kept it silent this time as whenever they announce new project, land mafia starts construction in the vicinity. It means zone-2 is ready fo take off.
We will be more than happy..:) if the work starts on Flyover..but we are also looking for opening of Margalla avenue which is to be linked with GT road , just 6 km away from Tarnol Chowk,,,I personally visited the site of Margalla avenue recently, double road is complete till GT road, but the link is not established yet.
If That Margalla avenue is linked with Ternol Flyover...which is very much possible , it will add fuel to the fire..in positive sense...and whole zone 2 WILL BE IN JUBILEE...:)
If the Pindi Metro Bus route will pass through the Tarnol area, then it cannot succeed without a fly over here! May be that is the reason, and I hope Gul Bhai has a point there.
These Mian brothers are very focused on the Metro project. I remember, they build many flyovers in Lahore just for the jangla bus! There is one at Secretariat, one at Qalma Chowk, another at Mozang Chungi - in fact a few more as well. All of these in 1.5 years... Can you imagine. These enermous structures were coming up almost overnight!
So who knows may be they are doing the same in Pindi?
Have heard positive news regarding Ternol fly over and of course if its linked with Margalla avenue, which is also being considered to link it with Islamabad, then Not only F 17, AWT, Sangjani, rather whole Zone 2 will see a phenomenal boost in the prices of real estate. Plus it will have huge impact on real estate NEAR NEW islamabad airport, like TOP CITY AND MC.
Anyone can update about latest of Tarnol Flyover, when it will start formally and what is expected completion date ?
I heard about Fatejan dualization project, anyone can confirm it ?
Still there is No Time Line comes out
Any news about tarnol flyover when it will be started???as i have seen the few houses has been demolished around tarnol.
The flyover was in the “pipeline” but unfortunately the pipeline got punctured and the flyover went missing. Search is on for its retrieval.
Haha nice joke…
Muhammad Ali: On a serious note, CDA/NHA have no option but to build this important flyover. It is a matter of time, but I don’t think it can be delayed any longer. Once built, the entire zone 2 will benefit immensely, especially E-16/17.
This benefits to all societies in zone 2 ,but no one interest to build a pressure to the authority. In these days uncontrolled traffic at Tarnol. After completion Kashmir highway people will face more problem,Good news if announce metro project from taxila to ISB/RWP. It will be start in 2-years.
They are only making the Intersection wider and constructing more gates for railway grossing.
Two news items:-

PK1, thanks for sharing both the news items. The APP news seems to be an older one perhaps of 2008.
If they are not constructing the flyover then the traffic congestion problem will continue to exist and probably will worsen as the time passes by. Widening of intersection is not going to resolve the issue. Sooner or later, they will have to build the flyover. I wish someone in NHA had the guts to tell the minister that the proposed widening project was nothing more than wastage of government funds. They should add more money to the allocated funds of 248 million rupees and should go for a flyover.
