Lahore: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has intensified its tax awareness and enforcement campaign across Punjab, targeting businesses that have failed to comply with the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (E-IMS) requirements.
According to a PRA spokesperson, inspection teams carried out visits to hotels and restaurants in Lahore, Gujranwala, and Multan as part of the ongoing drive. Several establishments were fined for not issuing sales tax invoices and for failing to use the E-IMS system, while others were served warning notices for non-compliance.
The spokesperson said the authority’s campaign aims to strengthen documentation, enhance tax compliance, and improve transparency in business transactions.

In a related development, a meeting was held at the office of the Commissioner PRA Multan with representatives of the Marriage Halls and Marquees Association. Officials briefed the participants on the implementation of E-IMS and the importance of timely tax payments.
The registration of newly established businesses also came under discussion. Association members assured full cooperation with the PRA but raised concerns about declining business activity due to recent flooding in some areas.
The PRA reiterated its commitment to facilitating taxpayers while ensuring strict action against habitual defaulters and businesses evading tax obligations.
