Lahore: The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) has introduced land record and property transfer services for Pakistanis living abroad, starting with the formal launch of facilities in London.
According to a PLRA spokesperson, overseas Pakistanis can now access key services including obtaining Fard for record purposes, Fard for transactions and sales, copies of approved mutations, and e-registry services for both buyers and sellers.

Director General PLRA, Ikram-ul-Haq, said the new system would simplify the property transfer process by eliminating the requirement of a Power of Attorney. Under the new procedure, once the fee is paid, the e-registry task will be sent by the sub-registrar to a designated officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After verification of details and biometric authentication linked with NADRA, the task will be returned to the sub-registrar for completion.
Ikram-ul-Haq noted that the initiative would save overseas Pakistanis from the inconvenience of traveling to Pakistan for property-related matters while also helping curb fraudulent practices.
He added that similar facilities will soon be introduced in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Spain, the United States, and Italy to serve the global Pakistani diaspora.
