The primary goal of the scheme is to construct environmentally friendly and affordable housing for families with incomes below PKR 60,000, with a preference for those without existing residences. The cities of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Sargodha will be the initial beneficiaries of the program. Each district in Punjab will see the construction of 3,000 houses under this initiative.
Notably, the scheme plans to construct 3,000 apartments on Raiwind Road in Lahore. Each apartment will have a cost of PKR 1.5 million, with the Punjab government providing a 60% subsidy. Families will only be required to pay 40% of the total cost over a five-year installment period. The Social Protection Authority will be responsible for finalizing the scheme’s rules and regulations.
