Islamabad: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb assured the National Assembly on Thursday that the Sukkur-Hyderabad-Karachi Motorway (M-6) remains a top priority for the government and will be completed at all costs.

The minister said the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year is being finalised and that the Ministry of Planning would be briefed on the importance of M-6 so that adequate allocations could be ensured.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Chaudhry Armaghan Subhani responded to concerns raised over the project’s omission from the PSDP 2024–25. He clarified that although the motorway was not included in the current year’s development portfolio, it will be incorporated into the PSDP 2025–26 and treated as a priority initiative.
Subhani further stated that the Ministry of Communications has already submitted a proposal seeking Rs10 billion for the M-6 in the next PSDP, with the final figure subject to revision during the budget approval process.
