Brothers, what is the progress for new airport?
Yesterday, one of newspaper reported that 75 % of work is completed at new airport. But control tower is incomplete as long litigation is going on with Chinese contractor. Further delay would mean that airport inauguration will be delayed till first half of 2016.
As the news was regarding a parliamentary committee, they also objected to access of workers to airport. They have to cross a fence on motorway to reach site. NHA has not made any access till now.
What about the earlier access of airport workers & machinery through PECHS. Is it closed ?
Don’t know. It was just written in that news report. I think it meant that daily access of working staff is through raising a motorway fence. Work material etc must be from proper routes.
Update on road project
Matter is still with prime minister from last 3 months. No decision has been taken so far. Haji camp route is still in nha cards. Nha officials are waiting for official orders from last 3 months from PM.

Now airport has single access from motorway thallian interchange. Every one who has to go airport is using this route. Special passes are issued to all airport related persons to use thallian route.
Ch. Shahid Sb. Imran & Qadri rightly say Go Nawaz Go. Nawaz Sharif is not innocents.

I-14 route is not economical and is not the shortest route. Kashmir highway route is the best and if wisdom prevails then this route will be restored.

Agree with Zubair, Kashmir Highway is the shortest and most economical road link to new Islamabad International Airport. IA wisdom will prevail

The current airport sucks. Govt. Should take some serious steps to expedite the completion of the new airport near Kashmir Highway.
Islamabad is the capital and is therefore the highly posh city of Pakistan. It deserves a world class airport.
