Airports reflect country’s overall culture and habits of the people and its rulers. This is what Islamabad is showing to the world. Nation that is dirty, undisciplined, selfish is having corrupt, inefficient and uncompetent rulers. We all here are part of it.
Even fazabad ada (skyways) is better then the current airport

Feel Ashame to land on Islamabad Airport with the foreign Guests.This is the Face of Pakistan. Foreigners can evaluate Pakistan by landing on Islamabad Airport and this is long delayed project Pakistan cant complete. Shame for all the Governments since last decade. Hope now will be completed on priority basis to remove it from the top of list of Worst Airports.
@ mustaq hussain…Both the government and greedy investors are responsible for this mess. …mushroom growth of society mafia at every corner of the project are creating multiple hurdles and challenges for completion of the new airport. …government need to bulldoze few of them to clear the path…
YES at least we deserve an international standard airport in ISLAMABAD…WHAT i am afraid is the delay in completion of current new airport…PLUS…the standards and quality of structure and services of new airport.
Dear Million$$$: Do you think these soceities are being built without government approval? If not then Government itself wants soceities be around the airport. Authorities are not blind or deaf or dumb, they know what they are doing. I think blaming soceities for delay of airport is not fair. Only reason of delay is that with delaying, you add cost. Adding cost from 35B to 85B ruppees will put bigger chunk in the pockets of our so called leaders and their associates beurocracy.
I would differ Malik Majeed Sb. Delay is not to fill pockets but its just lack of priority setting.
But you are right that Airport delay has nothing to do with delay of airport. I honestly can't understand that how these societies can be problem? I think its helpful for airport security. A jungle would be security nightmare and a planned society is easier to manage.
@malik majeed…look what’s the reason of launching a big housing society on the land allocated for airport link road. …if you could check at similar airport projects worldwide cost escalations are a common problem with such projects. …
Cost escalation is common problem all over the world. But still it’s not desirable.
100% agreed with Malik Majeed sb. We are the Corrupt nation from top to Bottom. Look at the situation of PIA. Any where in the world all the other Airlines strictly follow their schedules and fly on Time but only PIA delays un announced their flights due to incompetent Operational Adminstration and this is happening since last decade now and no one bothers.

NHA working on a new proposal. New proposal is to keep Kashmir highway approach till motorway chowk (GT Road)and from there build a new road which will connect to airport at thallian. However, PM has not yet approved any proposal.
Geo News Channel telecasting news about Senate's Standing Committee Report. According to their report they observed by Engineers working at Airport project , only 35% Job is completed and remaining Job cannot be completed by early 2015 . Runway are not at Int'l Standard. Land for Airport was purchased at high cost. They mentioned Illegal Societies close to New Airport are also hurdles and no exterior road to Airport is decided yet. They decided to write a letter against to PM against this Airport.
Very Very Negative Report is going to PM about New Airport. Allah Rehm Farmaye.
