But federal govt and NHA are firm to build this route going through I sectors...

Nha disapproved the I sectors route whereas the govt approved i-sectors route
What a sad state of affairs this is, huge national projects are subjected to politics.
I think things are moving in such direction
Rout from Haji Camp to Airport via I series
Rout from Kashmir Highway to Moterway and then through
moterway to airport via thalian interchange

How unfortunate it is even till Today, we are unclear what was approved & what govt did in one year & what they want to do in future regarding this mega project?
Pace of work on other govt projects is admirable except this "Orphan" project of airport.
The only problem is that this project started in previous govt tensure so N govt cannot cash this project into their name.Compare the speed of work of Metro with airport.Metro which will accomodate people of only specific area is progressing at a fast pace where as the project which will benefit the whole nation is left un attended just because of politics…
I think PMLN Govt has been taking Islamabad airport as business opportunity for them instead of national issue. This is what I feel, may be I am wrong
Maybe they want to take maximum credit for this by first scandalizing it in every way possible because it was started by Musharaf. Then take credit for fixing all the problems.

Any up date about PECHS ?
I recently visited there n quite disappointed wz entrance. It has a small entrance just on face of railway crossing . People should wait for train before getting into society. When it wll b populated then most of the times we wll see traffic jam
Hopeless , no activities at all and annual charges we are paying. Allah may help us who ever have investment all of these areas. Should forget for a long time. Is not only this society but DHA III Rawat has the same problem.
Why cant we press on the management to show us progress?
Also what have they decided about the potential new airport route?

Though no formal announcement has yet been made but looking at the little news items “leaked” to the press it seems the government has made up its mind on the route through I sectors. This is neither the old route nor the Haji camp route from golra but a third proposal which NHA is finalizing.

I thought the only route going through I sectors is the first plan.
I had mentioned that over here a few days ago. It follows the Kashmir Highway till the motorway chowk on GT road, and from their a new road will be built through I sectors. So then there will be no need for the elevated 4 km long bridge needed on Golra road which was costing several billions. This has also been reported in the press now.
So it means airport wil be getting access through thalian side and not from mumtaz city side
IF, and its a big IF at this stage, this proposal is adopted, then yes that will be the case. But do bear in mind that nothing has been officially finalized yet. Who knows, they might end up building two roads, this is Pakistan, stranger things have happened.
