Seen a small news in newspaper last week that property tax has been increased by 300% in Islamabad.
Can any expert shed some light and give insights if this applies to residential and commercial property rental income or also on self occupied residence?

Taxes have increased. I used to get a bill of around 16000-18000 per year, and now it is close to 41,000 annually.
Also water/sewerage charges have also doubled.
Property tax in Islamabad were increased last years ... And this is second year that i paid increased tax.
& no, its has not been withdrawn.
However, you have an exemption of 50% if its a self occupied house.
100% exemption if you are a retired federal govt employee.
