It will be a great news if it comes true. Margalaa Avenue is a long awaited project , and if completed , it will definitely give a very good boost to the property of all the surrounding areas including Sangjani.
They can also link magalla avenue with margalla road throughout the patch that passes navy airforce and after thatthey will construct 6 lane road .
Yes. It will be a better option to connect to Matgalla road. Try having a look at the area on Google earth. Can’t digest how CDA will tell Army, Air Force and Navy that we are going to build a road here and please shift your chief’s house from this place.
I have visited this area no of time and B.R Malik is right, Margalla avenue will end up at D-12 and a link is proposed via E-11 to connect with present margalla road ending at F-11. The construction of 11th avenue is on cards as well. This will also connect E-11 with all major arteries of Islamabad.
The margalla phase II probably start from joint of present margalla road and constitution avenue (F-5) and go to word quid-e-azam university ( partially constructed already but restricted) and then to left upto murree road (back side of diplomatic enclave). Main purpose may be give access to some of foreign embassies under construction near NCP.
After constitution avenue blockage i.e Therna etc, this will serve alternate rout to this area.
Does it has anything to do with Bahria Enclave access, connected to Diplomatic enclave? Diplomats would love to live in Enclave and after all Park Enclave and Bahria Enclave names are connected somehow to Diplomatic Enclave.
Interesting point Malik Sb… You are raising some very interesting points nowadays
Dear B.R Malik,
Is it same Khayaban-e-Margalla and MA?
Regards
Not sure. But existing road which we call as Margalla road from F-11 till F-6 is actually called Khayaban e Iqbal. So I suppose Khayaban e Margalla is that proposed part of MA which will fall between E-10 and E-7 as it will be adjacent to Margalla hills, if built.
Dear B.R Malik,
Many thanks for the interesting points you've shared.
Regards
Welcome.
B.R Malik, is right
A road is in planing, as well
Starting from DHA ( extended to Rawat T-ckowk) over the upper side near P-block of Gulberge and will go upto Lehtrar road and murree road from up side of Rawal dam. Gulberge has included it in their planing and you can see a 120 feet OPP road in P-block residencia to link up with this future road. This will also serve by pass for busy Islamabad expressway and short to murree and bharia enclave, park enclave etc.
Rest Allah Knows better.
I see that there are some confusions developing here so let me try and clarify some important points. Firstly, this tender is for MA phase II and this section of MA starts from the end point of margalla road where it meets constituton avenue (Near trail 5) and will link with the murree road near kot hathyal.
It provides an alternative route to the centre of Islamabad for traffic towards murree. It has been started on the personal directives of Prime Minister and that is why you are seeing things happening fast and will hopefully be completed in just over a year IA. Any benefits accruing to residential areas/ housing societies is ancilliary in nature, and has nothing to do with the project planning. It is meant to provide an alternate route bypassing the increasingly congested Bhara Kahu area.
Additionally, in order to prevent simmilar encroachments and congestion on this road in the future, it will be "access controlled" so there will only be fixed entry and exit points and consequently Any housing societies/ areas located along side will Not have access to this road (That is what "access controlled" means). The road is likely to be fenced.
Thirdly, regarding the section which falls in the E-11-F-6 area, it is true that the defence organizations have raised objections to that and so it is already a dead duck now. Alternatives are being considered and linking to the existing margalla road is a leading option, though not final.
@Raza. To answer your first query, No, this road will also be a 4 lane road. The 3+3 is for the entry and exit points only. Its possible they may have toll plazas. To answer your second point, well, PML (N) govt wont mind winning over some youth! :D
@Kashif Sheik.
Thanks for more detail and confirmatory analysis.
Though constructing a separate dedicated route to avoid just 0.5km busy area of barakahu is the only reason, i don't think so. Instead of this road, they can clear up barakahu area portion and can widened up road even with a fly over there.
Sir recently new sector from housing foundation finally approved after g-14 initiated in 2009.many big fishes and current and retired bureaucrats have plots over there
You can judge its importance by its profit.yet down payment has not been received but profit on registration of 1 kanal is 35 lac
So road to Bara kahu is justified
Secondly I think u forgot that our beloved pm have huge setup of poultry farm over there
Good analysis Kashif Sheikh.
Well said AM
This is good analysis by Kashif Sheikh and i appreciate your insight.

Thanks everyone. Its true that any good road access will inevitably have beneficial effects for residential areas close by.
@Nasir05. Its not just for bypassing bhara kahu. It will also provide a shorter access for traffic coming from taxila side and all the way to Peshawar. If you look at the overall plan it makes a lot of sense. People will be able to exit the motorway at Sangjani and from there, they will be able to directly get on MA which will take them straight to murree road near a point that is after bhara kahu. Not only is the route shorter, but more importantly, will save a lot of travel time.
As a matter of fact I think even people coming from Lahore side might also start to prefer this route, specially on holidays, when murree road is clogged near lake view park.
City bypasses are always good and they take the pressure of transit traffic off from the local roads. MA and the much awaited Islamabad bypass (from motorway to Rawat) will definitely make Islamabad more cleaner and organized once transit traffic is routed around the city instead of passing it through KH and IJP roads.
