Margalla Avenue will be built one day but not as soon as we would like. I have been hearing about Margalla Avenue for many years now without much on the ground.

As per today DUNYA newspaper, CDA has planned to start construction of margalla avenue on coming Saturday.
Unfortunately such news items will not be trusted by anybody until we see something on ground.
I am reading these news from 5 years.
Even if any driver of CDA says such thing to news reporter .they print it .
This margalla avenue has become an entertainment thing now :) when some dealers say "ji yahan margalla avenue bhi lagay gi, ap plot lay lain ...." yeah sun ker baysakhta hansi nikal jati hay :P

which road exactly are they talking about? Khyaban e Iqbal? I saw rollers and other heavy machinery required to mend roads on Khyaban e Iqbal. Margalla Avenue has never been used as an alternative due to metro bus project :P There is some confusion.

I think you are right. I have seen rollers working on Margalla road (Khyaban e Iqbal). They were starting their work at chawk where 7th avenue meets khayaban e Iqbal. (ISB zoo area)

They must be talking about Margalla Road i.e Khayaban- Iqbal. The reporter quoted it as Margalla Avenue incorrectly. We should all sue the reporter for giving false hope,bhaiyo please sleep again… Abhi nahi ban rahi ye piari si M A…

ISLAMABAD: The Aviation Division on Friday informed the National Assembly standing committee on planning, development and reforms that 80 per cent work on the New Islamabad Airport is complete and the facility would be operational in the last quarter of 2016.
Mr Gardezi said the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had proposed to construct an access road from Golra Chowk to the airport, passing through sector E-16, E-17 and Haji Chowk. The proposed road would be 14.5 kilometres but due to unknown reasons it was decided that Margalla Avenue would be extended to the airport. The approved road passes through a number of housing societies,” he said.
Secretary Planning and Development Division Hassan Nawaz Tarar said the Cabinet Division on February 20, 2015, had requested his ministry to include the widening of Kashmir Highway from Golra Chowk to G.T. Road in the new airport road project being executed by NHA.
“It has been decided that the widening of Kashmir Highway will be included in the airport project,” he said, adding Rs1.2 billion were required for it.
"Margalla Avenue would be extended to the airport" .................................
