Please also confirm AWT Islamabad and D-18 is same thing.
AWT is in D-18 but most of D-18 has been taken up by Engineers Cooperative Society so D-18 doesn't automatically mean AWT. It is a fully developed society backed by Pakistan Army through the Askari Group. Plots are available in 10 marla, 1 kanal and 2 kanal categories. From an investment point of view, AWT is at an interesting juncture right now. Prices had doubled last year due to the construction on Sangjani Interchange which will later be connected to Margalla avenue also and will provide the society with a direct access from the motorway. It is almost 70-80% complete now.
However, at the start of this month, some senators tried to create an issue over the interchange as it was damaging their own investment interests. Pressure was exerted on NHA to halt its construction and work remained suspended for 2 weeks. However, as the project was initiated after following the due process and all formalities had been properly completed, the NHA told the senators that the project is completely according to rules and work on the project resumed, and is now underway.
Nevertheless, this whole episode was successfully used by some elements/dealers to spread false rumors about the cancellation of the project altogether. It lead to some decline in investor interest and some small investors got panicked and sold their plots. Most of these plots are being picked up by dealers themselves and some big fish investors, at lower prices.
I would strongly recommend you to visit AWT yourself, preferably on a working day, and get the facts for yourself. My personal assessment is that instead of rising gradually, as was the case till December, prices in AWT will probably give a sudden jump when interchange opens. When that happens, the returns will be handsome InshAllah.

Thanks for detailed analysis, If we do compare Islamabad AWT with Cabinet Division Employees Cooperative Housing Society (CDECHS) Islamabad E-16/2,3 & E-17/3. Out of these two societies which one will be a good choice for investment.

How high can it get? It is on the other side of the motorway I mean left side when going to Peshawar. The interchange is a certainty and people have already purchased in anticipation,of it. Opening of the interchange will,not make a huge difference.
