Should I buy a locally made or imported water pump? What brand and what model? Is 1hp good for a 5 marla house or 2hp would be better? What other factors should I consider when buying a water pump? For example, if it breaks down, is a mechanic easily available? Are its spare parts readily available and are they inexpensive? Would appreciate help in this regard.
For long term usage go for some Italian brand, power of pump depends on your bore depth, if you have bore upto 200ft than 1HP is fine. With 2HP pump we are having an issue:
Our bore is around 290ft but in the bore water does not gather quickly. So after running the pump for half hour it stops giving the water. But after 15 minutes it again starts giving the water. As the pump discharge is more than the water collected in the bore.
an italian 1hp pump will perform better than those Chinese 1.5-2hp.
