Where to buy a house in Rawalpindi/Islamabad?

Asalaam alaikum,

I'm looking to buy a house of 5-6 marla max price around 5,500,000 of 4 bedrooms.

Is it possible to get a house at this price in a good location in Rawalpindi/Islamabad ?

I don't live in Pakistan and only visit every few years. I would appreciate if you could please mention a few good locations according to my price range.

Thanks. :)

Yes. You can find a 7 marla house in this range in Model Town, Humak, Islamabad.

I think that you should be able to get a house of that size in airport society, PWD and police foundation.

Thanks a lot for answering guys.

@Arshad

Can you please tell me which sector is better in the airport society and if you could also tell me the reasons why it's better?

Thanks.

If you want to buy a residence in a posh area, then you can opt for Defence residency apartments in DHA phase 2 Islamabad. The Defence residency apartments can be bought nowadays at down payment of 1/4th and remaining in installments to be paid until 2014 when you will get possession.

Obviously, you have to compare between a house (where you own the land and the construction) in a not-so-posh area with an apartment (where you do not really own the land) in a posh area with decent facilities, parks etc.

Airport Society is quite a small society excluding sector 4, so I don’t think that it makes much difference which sector you buy in as they are basically in the same location, and all (1-3) are mostly developed as you would be hard pressed to find a vacant plot. If I had to pick one above the others then I would say that sector 1 might be classed as having a slight edge in terms of approach and having a lot of schools in that area. Sector 4 is the latest sector as well as being the largest and should be cheaper as probably only 10% of that area is built upon.
