With the building of the World Trade Centre in defence phase II - wouldn’t it be wise to make an investment there at this moment in time as this new building should create jobs etc.

How far have they got in terms of construction? they have been on it for a long time now. This should have a huge positive impact phse 2 and extention. One of the land marks of Islamabad! that's if it ever gets built!!!
Sir it will take time to construct but will have the excellent impact on dha plots especially phase 2 when completed…Phase 2 may become one of the expensive most community after its completion.
The construction has been going on for last 1 and a half year, continuously. Every month they upload updated construction photos on their website, www.http://www.alghurairgiga.com/ This will be a great project with state of art infrastructure. This is a part of organization of worldtrade centrs, who have also built worldtrade centrs in many countries. In addition, they have promised to handover the shops by July 2014, if they cannot then they’ll give rental amount of the shop to the owners of the shops until they complete.
What is current rate of plots there at the moment in phse 2?
There is no plots… Only shops, offices, cinamex, bowling, etc etc… Like a mall.
I mean in dha phase 2? not the commercial hub it self!
Residential plots prices is between 60-80 lac. But you should confirm from property dealers or look into this zameen.com website. DHA Phase-II is much much better than Phase-I, because of flat land, direct access to Islamabad Highway to go to Islamabad and GT road to go to Rawalpindi.
@pk1 sb..sir following are the market rates in dha 2 islamabad... 1- Kanal good location plots starts from 7.5 million and goes upto 10 million in sectors A to H.. 2- 1 kanal boulevard plots starts from 9.5 million and goes upto 14 million.. 3-Table top 1 kanal plots starts from 9 million and goes upto 15 million... 4-10 marla plots starts from 4.8 million and goes upto 6 million.. 5-Some 35x70 plots are available for round about 6.2 to 6.8 million... Prices in sector j(ex-commoners town is a bit less then above mentioned amounts).. Average or bad location 1 kanal plots are available with tag of approximately 5.8 to 6.5 million..

@ saadi...has pk1 even contributed in this thread? why are you referring to pk1 saab? @ bluedoc saab, its hard to say at this stage whether extention will have a positive impact as the ext is huge project so it depends upon, which block you have and how close the block and your plot is to the world trade center. The closer the better. But its difficult to say at this stage.
Worldtrade centr will not make much affect on DHA Phase-II Extension, since phase II Ext is on the other side of the Islamabad highway. DHA Phae-II prices will go up.
Younas saab,if a mega structure is being built in the vicinity of a sector within the range of 1 -2 km, will definitely have an impact on its surroundings…and as far as phase 2 ext is concerned its adjacent to phase 2 and connected to kasmir highway…so how come world trade centre will not have any positive effect on dha phase 2 ext ??
@ bluedoc saab, it will have positive impact but some areas will have more than others as already discussed above. The more closer the better. Even the most far block should see a positive impact. But the most closer the better, as don't forget this huge complex will create jobs, it will be ideal for tourists so ideal for commercial purposes, rental and also since local amenities, prices will increase as a result. Note: that's providing phse 2 ext ever gets fully developed. If its like valley, then this can cause serious problem, and a question of ever gaining possession would be a huge achievement and that's the only thing you would be concerned about never mind whether world trade center would increase prices! insha allah it should be fine though - prayer for the best!
Its a great project by Al Ghurair and Giga group of Dubai. I wish it gets developed soon.
Initial Master plan was awesome, there were 5 towers with 35 to 38 stories in each but due to financial crisis, towers were cut down to only 7 floors.
Development was stopped for a long time and then started again with a snail's pace early last year. I did some research on it last September and unfortunately it did not look promising.
Some insiders said, the developers are in financial crunch and recovery could take some time. The situation could have improved now, but am not updated with that.
Best thing to do is to visit site, equipment and labor force employed shall give a fair idea to where is it going. The grey structure has been there for some time now
Shops and offices available in the market thru their approved dealers as well.
Payment plan was: On Provisional booking: 10% of price Within 90 days of booking: 10% Within 180 days: 10% Eight quarterly installments: 55% On Posession: 15%

Sir they have improved their pace and possession is expectd in 2014 but i think it can be a bit later than 2014.Sir they were in financial crunch but after the success of their some of the projects,they are very much comfortable now with their financial position…Sir by mistake i referred to pk1 sb…
