Karachi: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Tuesday directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to expedite pending infrastructure projects across Sindh, stressing that delays will not be tolerated.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the NHA Regional Office, the minister was briefed on the status of major highway projects in the province. Discussions focused on removing administrative hurdles and addressing security concerns to ensure smooth execution.
A review of key routes, including N-5, N-55, N-120, N-110, and the M-6 Motorway, was conducted. The minister also ordered improvements in bridge infrastructure and called for a more efficient toll tax collection system.

Aleem Khan emphasized that construction quality and transparency must be ensured, with no compromise on standards. He approved the formation of special teams to resolve highway-related issues and directed officials to submit weekly progress reports.
He also instructed that future toll plazas in Sindh follow a uniform design to improve travel facilities, and announced incentives for NHA staff achieving performance targets.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to modern infrastructure, the minister called for improved procurement processes and contract management, particularly for the M-6 Motorway project.
