Multan: Murree Police have launched a two-week “Accommodation Monitoring Drive” requiring all property owners and managers to digitally register tenants, including guests in hotels, guest houses, rental flats, and properties listed on platforms like Airbnb.
District Police Officer (DPO) Murree, Dr Raza Tanveer Sipra, announced the initiative on Wednesday, emphasizing that the drive aims to strengthen security for tourists, residents, and local businesses. Property owners have been given a 14-day deadline to complete the registration under the Punjab Information of Temporary Residents Act.

Under the new system, records of all occupants will be digitized through the ‘Hotel Eye’ software, allowing real-time transmission of guest data to the police. The initiative covers not only traditional hotels but also private homes and apartments rented through online platforms.
Dr Sipra stated that as an international tourist destination, Murree receives a high volume of visitors, particularly during peak seasons, making comprehensive tenant registration crucial for modern security measures. He warned that strict legal action, including case registration, will be taken against non-compliant owners after the deadline.
All Station House Officers have been instructed to ensure full tenant verification in their jurisdictions to make certain that no non-local residents remain unregistered. The DPO urged citizens to cooperate with the police to ensure Murree remains a safe and secure destination for all.
