Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday engaged with Qatari investors to explore investment opportunities in Islamabad’s hospitality sector, citing a growing shortage of high-end accommodation in the capital.
The virtual meeting was chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa and attended by senior officials. Participants were briefed on opportunities for hotel development, particularly in the five-star segment, where demand is rising due to increased diplomatic activity and tourism.

Officials said Islamabad currently lacks sufficient high-end hotel capacity and highlighted the availability of prime locations for new developments. The CDA also outlined incentives and facilitation measures aimed at attracting foreign investment.
Qatari investors expressed interest in the proposals and said they would further assess potential opportunities. Both sides agreed to continue engagement to advance cooperation in the hospitality sector.
