Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA), in collaboration with the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), has announced plans to establish the city’s first weekly organic market in Sector F-7/3.
The initiative is aimed at promoting healthy eating habits and providing residents with easier access to fresh, organically grown produce. Items to be sold at the market include fruits, vegetables, honey, olives, and other organic products.

According to CDA officials, the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) will manage the market and is currently inviting applications from interested vendors. The last date for submission has been set for September 12, 2025.
Officials said the market will create direct linkages between local growers and consumers by minimizing the role of middlemen. This, they added, will not only ensure fair prices for buyers but also support small-scale farmers and businesses by strengthening community-level trade.
The weekly organic market is the first of its kind in the federal capital and is expected to become a regular feature for residents seeking healthier and more sustainable food options.
