Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) have reviewed a range of low-cost financing initiatives aimed at improving the financial well-being of government employees.
The discussion took place during a meeting between KDA officials and an SBP delegation led by Assistant Director of the Financial Inclusion Division Muhammad Daniyal Khan.
During the briefing, the SBP outlined financing programmes available through scheduled banks, including a subsidised housing finance scheme under which eligible government employees can obtain loans for the purchase or construction of homes at a 5% markup.

The delegation also highlighted financing facilities for electric motorcycles, solar panels and CNG rickshaws, offering zero-markup or easy-installment options to promote affordable transport and clean energy adoption.
KDA Member Finance Naveed Anwar Siddiqui said employee welfare remains a priority for the authority and expressed confidence that the financing initiatives would help employees access home ownership and other essential financial services.
He also announced that commercial bank counters will be established at the KDA Head Office to provide employees with easier access to banking and financing services.
KDA said it plans to organise additional awareness sessions with financial institutions to help employees benefit from the available financing schemes.
