Peshawar: According to a news source, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LG&RD) Shahram Khan Tarakai recently announced the government’s resolution towards achieving the goal of complete cleanliness in the province’s tourist locations. He said that this aim could not be achieved without raising popular awareness regarding responsible tourism, and getting the public to cooperate.
Tarakai said that the provincial government plans to utilise all its available resources to keep the local tourist spots clean and green.
He conveyed this message at the launch of a new social and electronic media campaign to promote cleanliness and anti-littering habits in the province. Further, the minister appealed to tourists to leave these scenic locations in the same pristine condition that they were originally found in.
The public-awareness media campaign features a series of videos; the first of which is comprised of a message which calls on tourists to be responsible with regard to the efficient disposal of their litter.
