A total allocation of PKR 4 billion has been made for the scheme’s first phase. Eligible individuals aged between 18 and 65 years, with a monthly income below PKR 150,000, can receive up to PKR 1.5 million in interest-free loans. These loans will be repayable in easy installments over a seven-year period.
To ensure transparency and merit, applicants were selected through a computerized balloting system. In the first round, the scheme received 123,000 applications, of which 18,555 met the eligibility criteria. Loans are being distributed across all districts in proportion to their population.
The chief minister described “Ehsaas Apna Ghar” as a major step toward addressing the housing needs of underprivileged citizens. He commended the Housing Department and the Bank of Khyber for their role in rolling out the project efficiently.
