Karachi: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab on Monday inaugurated the reconstruction of Mirza Adam Khan Road in Lyari, marking the start of a PKR 400 million infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity and drainage in the area.
Launched by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the scheme includes the development of a 4.48-kilometre dual carriageway and the installation of a 4.61-kilometre drainage line, along with upgraded sewerage infrastructure to address persistent flooding and wastewater issues.

The road links Mauripur Road with the Garden area and serves as an alternative route during congestion in the old city. Officials say its rehabilitation is expected to ease traffic flow and improve daily commuting for residents.
The project is part of the broader Lyari Transformation initiative, under which infrastructure upgrades are being carried out in underserved neighbourhoods across the city. Authorities said work would be completed within the current fiscal timeline, with a focus on quality and transparency.
