Islamabad: The federal government is moving ahead with plans to introduce two new residential sectors in the capital as part of efforts to address the growing housing shortage.
The proposed sectors, F-12 and G-12, are being developed under the supervision of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA). According to sources, the authority is preparing to announce the sectors either simultaneously or in phases once key approvals and planning formalities are finalised.
Officials said the layout plan for Sector F-12 has already been completed, while its PC-I approval remains pending. Development work is expected to pick up pace after formal clearance. Similarly, the PC-I for Sector G-12 is currently under review and nearing approval.

The final launch of the sectors will depend on the completion of essential steps, including approval of development costs, pricing, and planning details. There is also a possibility that Sector F-12 may be launched ahead of G-12, although a joint announcement is still under consideration.
The initiative is aimed at catering to the rising demand for housing in Islamabad, particularly among federal employees, while also offering opportunities to the general public.
In parallel, development activity is already underway in Sectors F-14 and F-15, reflecting the government’s broader push to expand residential options in the federal capital.
