Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has prohibited the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) from collecting toll tax from the residents of Bahria Town Karachi – which is located on the Super Highway, according to a news report published on February 12.
While passing these interim orders, the court also directed the FWO and other authorities concerned to submit their response. According to details, a petition was filed by the residents of Bahria Town who stated that they have to pay PKR 50 in toll tax at both entry and exit points.
It was highlighted that thousands of Bahria Town Karachi residents – even those who are only visiting facilities nearby – have to pay the toll. They requested the SHC bench to exempt them from paying the said tax. The court has restricted the toll collection and sought response from FWO and others.
