Sargodha: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered immediate measures to address sanitation, sewerage and beautification issues in Sargodha, directing authorities to ensure visible improvement across the city within three days.
Following the chief minister’s directives, an emergency meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Office in Sargodha to review the city’s condition and issue instructions to relevant departments. Authorities were told to resolve all sanitation and sewerage-related problems within the given timeframe.

The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) was directed to promptly drain stagnant water from various areas of the city, while additional machinery under the Suthra Punjab programme was deployed to speed up cleaning operations. Officials were also instructed to ensure thorough cleaning and washing of roads, bazaars and streets.
Orders were issued for the immediate improvement of parks, green belts and road medians, along with the restoration of non-functional streetlights. Authorities were further directed to remove encroachments and improve traffic safety arrangements, particularly around schools.
The chief minister warned that strict action would be taken against officers failing to comply with the directives. A progress report on the measures taken will be submitted to her after three days.
