DHA City, an under-construction project by Defence Housing Authority, is located in Gadap Town. The allotted land for this project extends to about 20,000 acres and consists mostly of vacant plots available for sale.

Being 56 kilometres away from downtown Karachi, this society is a point of interest for people willing to live far from the main city. It is being developed at a rapid pace in accordance with the principles of modern architecture and good engineering practices. There are hundreds of residential plots available for sale here. Each plot size is specified for certain sectors. For instance, if you want to buy a 125 sq. yd. plot in DHA City, you only have to look through Sectors 14A and 14B. Facilities & Security in DHA City

DHA authorities aim to make DHA City a self-sufficient community. The society will produce its own electricity and supply water via a private plant. The masterplan includes many theme parks, an iconic mosque, and a solar park. It also features a community hall, a public service hub, several gas stations and transport for moving in and out of the neighbourhood. Overall, the project is planned by keeping the comfort of residents in mind. Some facilities have been built while others are due to be launched soon.

Schools, Universities & Hospitals in DHA City

About 40 primary schools and 20 high schools have been planned in the neighbourhood. However, the construction of The City School has been completed and it is functional now. There are also marked areas for the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).

A specific area has also been dedicated to health centres that will be situated in each sector of DHA City. Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre and a liver transplant centre are under construction, as of February 2019.

Shopping & Restaurants near DHA City

There are expected to be several malls, plazas, grocery stores, and marts in the area. For this purpose, several commercial centres have been planned. However, for now, residents can access nearby areas for shopping. Same is the case for restaurants. A lot of popular eateries are situated close to DHA City, including Burraq Restaurant, Super Madina Restaurant, and Mir Wahab Khan Khoso Restaurant.
