Cricket may not be the national sport of Pakistan but it has remained, arguably, the country’s most popular sport for decades. In fact, passion for the game among Pakistanis has kickstarted a whole new genre: street cricket, which is played by people of all ages. Taking the sport’s widespread popularity to a whole new level, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) introduced Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2015. Since then, the cricket series has been organised annually and lauded by millions of die-hard cricket fans across the world.
PSL 7 matches will take place in two cities: Karachi and Lahore. As per the latest updates on PSL 7, all necessary safety precautions and SOPs were observed when it comes to seating arrangements in the cricket stadiums hosting PSL matches. Along with limiting the number of spectators, Players will also be kept in a secure bubble to prevent the spread of the deadly Omricon variant of the coronavirus.
Now that PSL 2022 is just around the corner, let’s learn more about this exhilarating series!
PSL – An Overview

Pakistan Super League is a cricket series based on a group of teams named after the six major cities of Pakistan including Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators. One of the most interesting things about this cricket event is that the squads of all these teams do not entirely feature local players, in fact, some of the most renowned international players are also invited to be a part of these teams. Another factor that significantly adds to the excitement of PSL is that this event is based on a series of T20 cricket matches. The Pakistani cricket event is also recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
