Any1 having any update on MA or passed through the area and saw if work has restarted?
Dear when ever I go to MA I think work has started .as bajri dumpd .tractor standind few labour wondering here there few huts . But road has same position . And contractor never disappeared from scene but no progress
It is all about kickbacks and payments. Damn politicians in every walk of life.
Looks like we need to have a Dharna for MA completion…
Dharna is not possible because MA is not a right but a privilege.
When most of us were buying plots in zone 2 we were not given any commitment by this govt or the previous govt that they will build MA for us.
However the ground work already done suggests that this project will be completed sooner or later either by this contractor or via a new contractor.
Margalla Avenue will be completed before PML-N government completes its tenure I.e 2017 to have another feather in the cap.
As far as I know, CDA is in no hurry to complete Margalla avenue.
They can sell C sectors on another dream. So the theory that CDA needs MA for selling C sectors has other angle too. Dreams sell easier than reality rather reality is difficult
Hopefully 2015 will bring good news, and the MA + new islamabad international airport will be completed.
I also feels that things will be more clear in 2015.

Do not expect Margalla Avenue completion this financial year. Metro project is facing massive cost and time overruns and CDA will not be left with much to do for the rest of the FY. They still have to build two underpasses at Faisal avenue for which they were given budget this year but so far they have not even been able to invite tenders. Things could start improving after July next year.
Kahif you may be right .but kindly tell that this is Ur judgement or any inside info. As I have some
friends in in CDA and they told me that it will start in start of 15 .
CDA is not spending any of its own money on Metro. Federal Govt is financing. That is tge precise reason why they haven't allocated any money in 2014-2015 budget.
There was budget allocation for MA in that budget. But it was not enough money.Main issue is acquisition of land especially graveyard issue.

The present government is avoiding printing new notes to plug the financing gaps in its budget and is relying more on heavier taxation and re-appropriating of money from other areas. I think most of the delays are being caused in Islamabad so Federal government will be required to provide additional funds. They might arrange the additional funds by cutting development budgets elsewhere. CDA could be a potential target. That is what I think.
As per CDA, they couldn't auction the plots in spetember due to Sit-in in order to generate funds for financing current budget. Budget projects will face delay.
I read it in newspaper. Probably in October.
You are right, CDA is in a bit of a financial fix and it is not being helped by the overall downturn in property market. Heard from a friend who is working at a Bank dealing with the issue that the overall response to the announced auction of new plots in park enclave has not been very good. It is possible CDA might even cancel it for now.
So overall situation is not very positive for CDA at least in this financial year.
An inside source says that MA will be completed after 1-2 years, not sooner.
Overall situation for CDA will never be positive unless they go with radical changes within their organisation and their ways of working. Habitual corruption within the organisation is what brough CDA to this situation. I would like to give a very simple example: You drive down at any Islamabad road and count how many garbage drums you find. This will tell you how bad situaion the CDA is in.
@A.M. My statement is in fact entirely based on inside information, and if you read my post it is not contradicting your information either. You said it will be "started" in early 2015, and I said it will "not be completed" by June 2015. So there is no contradiction.
According to my information, CDA has to make a payment of Rs 15 crore to the contractor to clear his bills, and the work will be started. After a couple of months contractor will generate a new bill, and CDA will sit on it, due to shortage of funds. It is my understanding that CDA is facing a lot of lobbying from various quarters to get the contractor to restart the work, so I think his payment may be made from next quarter's budget release.
Kashif I agree .I have only info that payment of due a will be made in Jan 15 and work will start .and you r right that it will take time .but work left is only 40% only sincerity is required
I saw a program of Hamid Mir with Hanif Abbasi yesternight. On objection of spending too much on one project for Islamabad and Islamabad has other problems too, he said that "you will see what we are doing next. Doing zero point to Rawat signal less and connecting Islamabad to Wah & Taxila "
I think its clear reference to MA but as I said in previous posts that they will complete it at right time when they claim PML-N's project.
From that talk show it was clear that zero point to Rawat project is next priority of government in Islamabad.
